Series
The Names of Jesus: Power in a Name (June-August 2009)
The angel told Mary and
Joseph to name Him Jesus. And yet,
throughout Scripture Jesus is known by many “nicknames.” Some were given by prophets, some by
friends, some by Jesus himself. Each
one is significant. Each one tells
us something unique about our Lord and Savior. Each one tells us how Jesus interacts
with us still today. Some of the
names we’ll look at are:
--Jesus is the Word
--Jesus is the Light of the
World
--Jesus is the Vine
--Jesus is our Friend
--Jesus is the Lamb
--Jesus is the I AM
--Jesus is the Great
Physician
--Jesus is the Bread of Life
--Jesus is the Alpha and
Omega
Proverbs: Learning to Live what you Believe
(February-May 2009)
It’s one thing to know what the Bible says…it’s another to
live it out in your life. The book of
Proverbs gives us practical wisdom for living out the Christian life in the
ever day issues and problems of life.
We will be looking at issues throughout Proverbs such as:
What is wisdom and how do we get it?
What does it look like to trust God in the every day things?
How do we examine our heart to discover how we’re really
doing?
What steps should we take to guard our hearts for our spouses?
What does God hate…and how do we keep it out of our lives?
How should we respond to criticism?
How do we get our words and attitudes under control?
Why do we get so angry and how do we deal with it?
Too much fighting!: How
do we stop the conflicts with our
family and friends?
And more!
(September-November 2008)
What will Heaven be like?
What does the Bible tell us about heaven?
--what will it be
like/look like?
--where will we live?
--what will we be like/look like?
--what will we do?
--who will be there?
--what will our relationship to God be like?
--what will our
relationship to each other be like?
--…our relationship to
animals, etc.?
Come and join us for this very important series discussing the
future home of all who are in Jesus!
I think some of the answers may blow you away!
(August 2008)
Throughout the month of August we will be looking at numerous
different topics/ places in Scripture:
Luke 9:57-62 (the Cost of Following Jesus)
Micah 7 (Who can we trust?)
2 Timothy 1 (4 needed relationships that help us grow)
Acts 8:26-40 (Baptismal service)
Matthew 11:28-30 (Finding rest in Jesus)
The Song of Solomon (June-July 2008)
Throughout the summer we will be looking at how to build
intimacy in our relationships. There
is no better book in the Bible that covers this important topic than The
Song of Solomon (or Song of Songs).
Throughout this study we will be watching as Solomon builds a
relationship with his “Dove”, marries her and grows with her in their
marriage. While this will cover
different levels of intimacy in various kinds of relationships, the major
stress will be on the marriage relationship.
The Life Changer Series (January-May 2008)
Jesus is in the business of changing lives. He longs that we would grow in maturity
and Christ-likeness. This
transformation can only happen as He personally interacts with us in our
daily lives and we allow Him to mold us and shape us. If we let Him, He will!
Throughout this series we will be looking at how Jesus changed
the lives of many different men, women and children throughout the Gospels.
Each person had something to
learn. Some of them needed to see
God’s love, some of them needed a stern rebuke, some of them simply needed
to believe…all of them needed to be changed; and as they encountered the
Life Changer, their lives would truly never be the same.
God longs to change your life too. Are you ready to encounter the Life
Changer? If you are, I guarantee you
that He’s ready and willing…and that you’ll never be the same.
